The term Artificial Intelligence was first coined decades ago in the year 1956 by John McCarthy at the Dartmouth conference . He defined Artificial Intelligence (AI) as the science and engineering of making intelligence machines. In a sense AI is the technique of getting machines to work and behave like humans . In the past year's , AI has accomplishly created machines and robot's that are widely used  in many fields that include healthcare , robotics , marketing , business analytics and many more. Many a times people tend to think that AI is nothing but robots doing our daily chores , but the truth is Artificial Intelligence has found its way in our daily lives. 

For example , have you ever wondered how Google is able to give you such accurate search results or how your Facebook feed always gives you content based on your interest? The answer to your question is " Artificial intelligence ".

There is a common misconception between people that AI machine learning and deep learning are the same, since they have common applications. We can take the example of “Siri” which is an application of AI machine learning as well as deep learning.

   Let’s take a glance on how these technologies are related!

  AI is the science of getting machines to Mimic the behaviour of humans . Machine learning is the subset of AI , that forces on getting machines to make decisions by feeding them with data. On the other hand deep learning is the subset of machine learning that uses the concept of neural networks to solve complex problems . So to sum it up, Artificial Intelligence  , machine learning and Deep learning are inter connected fields. Machine learning and deep learning aids Artificial Intelligence by providing a set of algorithms and neurals network to solve data type problems . However, AI is not restricted to only machine learning and deep learning ,but it covers a vast domain of fields  including  natural language processing , object detection , computer vision , robotics , expert systems ,etc. 

We can do a basic comparison between a machine learning and AI machine. If you teach a robot a particular sport, for example hockey , the robot will be able to peruse the practical knowledge about hockey from you,  but when you will tell it to play cricket it would be blank about that sport as you have not taught the processor about cricket. But  it is opposite with AI machines. The AI machine would grasp the concept of the sports in few seconds and would be able to switch between the next game.

 AI can be structured along three evolutionary stages or you may say that there are three different types of AI

1 ) ARTIFICIAL NARROW INTELLIGENCE .

2 ) ARTIFICIAL GENERAL INTELLIGENCE.

3) ARTIFICIAL SUPER INTELLIGENCE.

    Artificial narrow intelligence  which is also known as weak AI involves applying Artificial Intelligence only to a specific task. Alexa is a good example of narrow intelligence, it operates within a limited predefined range of functions. 

     Looking towards Artificial general intelligence which is known as strong AI. This involves machines, that posses the ability to perform any intellectual  task like a human being. These strong prossesing units can perform high - level computations, but yet they are not capable of thinking and reasoning like a human. 

  They are many experts who claim that AI can cause a threat to human life .

Once Stephen Hawking said " STRONG AI WOULD TAKE OFF ON ITS OWN AND RE- DESIGN ITSELF ON AN OVER INCREASING RATE .HUMANS , WHO ARE LIMITED BY SLOW BIOLOGICAL EVOLUTION, WOULD NOT BE COMPETE , AND WOULD BE SUPERSEDED" 

As also once CHARLES DARWIN  said " Survival of the fittest " . We can relate this to Stephen Hawking’s statement.  Once AI starts working at a multiple progress , it would definitely change the scenario of human race. 

     AI is the term refering to the time when the capability of computer's will surpass human beings. AI super intelligence is presently a myth or a hypothetical situation,  as depicted in movies , science fiction , where we see that machines or robot's would rule the world . 

 APPLICATION :

 1) Google's AI eye doctor is initiative taken by Google where they are working with an Indian ideal chain to develop a AI system which can examine retina scans and  identity the condition of diabetic retinopathy  which causes blindness. Google keeps your records like your age , location ,name through Artificial intelligence. 

2) Twitter

Abusive content on twitter is automatically blocked  due to the functioning of AI.

3) Tesla 

Elon Musk quoted that in the future " self driving cars and robo taxi version will be available " .

The mastermind ELON MUSK  belives that Artificial Intelligence will take over the world by the year 2040 .
