94.39% students pass Class 12 CBSE exams

It is an increase of 2.52 percentage points over last year
With the CBSE Class 12 examination results out on Monday, Delhi region saw an overall pass percentage of 94.39%. This year’s result is an improvement over last year’s result of 91.87% as well as the 2018 result of 89%. The national average pass percentage this year was 88.78%. This year, the Delhi region was split into Delhi west and Delhi east, which secured fourth and fifth positions respectively in the national list — behind Trivandrum, Bengaluru and Chennai.
It is historic: Kejriwal After the results were declared, Education Minister Manish Sisodia took to Twitter: “Over the past 5 years, we at #DelhiGovtSchools have been competing with ourselves to break our own record each time. This year is no exception! 2020: 98%, 2019: 94.24%, 2018: 90.6%, 2017: 88.2% , 2016: 85.9% [sic].” Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also congratulated the education team of the Delhi government, the students, teachers, parents and education officers. “Feeling v proud to announce that the CBSE class 12 result of Delhi govt schools this year is 98% highest ever so far. on pass percentages showed that in government schools in Delhi east, the pass percentage was 97.68% while in governmentaided, and private schools it was 92.78% and 47.40% respectively. In Delhi west, the pass percentage was 97.91% in government schools while it was 89.8% and 54.57% in governmentaided, and private schools respectively.Girls lead the way The genderwise data on pass percentages showed that in Delhi east 92.23% boys and 96.31% girls passed, whereas in Delhi west 92.71% boys and 96.59% girls passed. Due to the COVID19 outbreak, the CBSE was forced to cancel examinations scheduled between March 1930 in 12 subjects. A further 11 subjects were cancelled for students of riotaffected northeast Delhi. The CBSE said that for students who have appeared for exams in more than three subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best three performing subjects were awarded to those subjects for which exams were not conducted. For those who appeared in only three subjects, the average of marks obtained in the best two performing subjects was awarded to the subjects whose exams were not conducted. For students of Class XII, mainly from Delhi, who have appeared in exams for only one or two subjects, the CBSE said their results were declared based on the performance in the appeared subjects and internal/practical/project assessment. However, even based on the above criteria, the results of 400 students could not be computed. It added that students will be allowed to appear in optional exams whenever the situation permits to improve their performance.
